WINTER SHELTER PROJECT COORDINATOR POST (p/t)
We are looking for an individual who can recruit and train volunteers, support the GCM Manager & Centre Coordinator and is passionate about helping people who are homeless in Gloucester. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a team and recognises the value volunteers bring to a charity.
The role would suit a person who has very good organisational skills, can deal with difficult situations and can maintain accurate records.
Gloucester City Mission is a Christian charity that supports homeless and marginalised people all year around but we also provide an overnight provision for rough sleepers from December to March. We encourage and inspire faith communities to support the homeless living in their communities.
This winter will be the second year that Gloucester City Mission has run the Winter Shelter based in the George Whitefield Centre. It is run through part time staff and roughly 80 volunteers.
Employment term: 5.5 months
Working hours: 20 hours per week during November starting on the 5th increasing to 30 hours from December 3rd including evenings and weekends. Hours can be negotiated but flexibility will be needed.
