Volunteering Opportunities
Individual
Homeless Day Provision (interaction with Street Homeless, cooking, laundry, supporting Staff)
Street Teams go out 5 mornings a week (offering hot drinks and biscuits, signposting to important services, Streetlink referrals, sharing God's Promises)
Hot Food Service (cooking, set up, service, interacting with guests and clearing away)
Donations (stock control, sorting and organising)
Commercial Kitchen (stock taking, baking and cleaning)
GCM Coffee Lounge (assist staff)
Prayer
All volunteers receive an EDBS, plus Safeguarding Training for those who go out on Street Teams.
Corporate
Teams can volunteer for half or full days and can help us with many different tasks such as:
Supporting one of our main services
Wellbeing and Memorial Garden upkeep (fence painting, general garden maintenance)
Maintenance of our buildings (painting, cleaning and general upkeep)
Helping out in the social enterprise (baking, stock rotation, donation sorting and cleaning)
Listing items on eBay
Fundraising Opportunities
If you would like to hold your own fundraising event in aid of GCM but are stuck for inspiration, get in touch for ideas, tips and guidance to help with your project.
It doesn’t have to be big and complicated – simple events are often the most effective.
Your fundraising event can be held at home, at your workplace, church or school, with a few friends and family, or in your wider community.

There are various events going on throughout the year that help us raise funds for GCM.
Donations
Clothes
We accept good quality clothing, footwear, new underwear, trainers, rucksacks, toiletries and sleeping bags. Donation can be made at the GCM Coffee Lounge or 72 Eastgate Street. We cannot accept bedding, duvets or towels though.
Money
If you already financially support GCM, you are making a real difference to the support and services we provide.
Post -Send your gift directly to Gloucester City Mission, 72 Eastgate Street, Gloucester, GL1 1QN. Cheques are payable to ‘Gloucester City Mission’. If you are a UK taxpayer, please download a Gift Aid Declaration HERE and send it with your gift.
Payroll Giving - Payroll Giving is a way for employees to make a charitable donation straight from their gross pay before tax. Speak to your employer to see if they offer this scheme.

Gift Aid - If you are a UK taxpayer, you can increase your gift to us by 25% at no extra cost to yourself. GCM is a Christian organisation. We believe in the power of prayer and are blessed by all those who pray for us. We ask that you continue to pray for God's provision for his work and his protection of GCM Trustees Staff and Volunteers. Our newsletter has a monthly prayer sheet if you would like to join GCM and other supporters in helping us in this way.
